Book publishing ISN’T a difficult thing. It does help to know/ be acquainted with certain software titles.. but all in all, it’s not all that difficult.

But, if you go through normal channels, you will find that book publishing can be rather.. expensive. So, many see it as an option that isn’t really.. viable.

I have never done things the normal way. In 1990, I dropped out.. dropped out of university, out of the rat race, out of normative strictures altogether. So, why should this be any different?

Normal, continental publishing of an 8″ by 10″ full glossy, full colour, coated cover, art paper, perfect bound book can run you up towards the 10$ to 12$ range. Print on demand puts the “wholesale” at closer to 45$ (depending on page count). So, how can it be an affordable, thus viable, venture?

Printers I’ve been networking with have been giving me quotes in the 5$ per unit range!

And I have a publishing company that is allowed to release ISBN codes.

So, Nowhere Press and Periods owns the ISBN.. secures printing overseas, and the book arrives in about a month (about a week and a half longer than continental work).. no taxes coming into the country.. just Brokerage Fees (about 500$ per title/ shipment).

But.. how do you come up with 5$ per unit at 2,500 units per press run? Simple. You don’t. Leave that up to me.. so long as you allow me to configure a “sponsors” page/ pages. One or two (or three, tops) pages at the end of the book for corporate sponsorship. That covers your book entirely. Every aspect of the work involved… from scanning to layout to… getting the book(s) to you.

If time permits, I can also help get the title mainlined into retail stores.

So, to reiterate.. publishing your book shouldn’t cost you anything.. if you are slated to be an exhibited artist (which infers that, should you not be selected for exhibition and you want a book.. it’ll be on your dime). Then.. you have your book. Done deal. It’s available for purchase near and far.
