A FREE nude magazine? WHY NOT?!
Artistic Nudes are an ageless thing.. so, that being said.. NO erotica will be exhibited on this site whatsoever. But I digress.
The magazine will measure 8″ by 10″ (for simplicity in “porting” it out to a Print on Demand option after the kill date has arrived), be predominantly black and white with full colour sections/ spreads. It’ll probably be “saddlestitched” (or bound using staples). And.. the best part of this is..

As artists and models, I ask that you find establishments that want to be listed online through the proferrement of the individual issues through their business. That means.. you find the places that wanna hold the magazine for public consumption.
Shipment costs are calculated in the advertising costs so nobody even has to pay for it. But, you might be asked to go to Greyhound to pick up anywhere from 50pcs to 250pcs.. depending on how many distro points you, yourself, have.
The shift to POD after the kill date (day where the on- shelf issue is no longer valid and, therefor, is killed/ pulled) is to facilitate and/ or negate the need for excessive reprinting. Every time an issue gets reprinted, trees and rivers die. And it costs so damn much (reprinting is slightly cheaper than the original print run but still.. expensive). In this manner, no reprint issues are lingering on, no files need to be protected.. once uploaded, they are ready to go at a moments notice.
How will the issue be paid for? Through advertising. I am, currently, holding the ad content rate down to 60%.. some might say that’s a lot but if you pick up your average student newspaper, it maintains about the same percentage. Commercial magazines ad to content ratio is hugely skewed (and many times.. you’ll read an article thinking it’s from “XYZ Publication Staff” when in fact it is ad copy supplied by a company to go hand in hand with some photos.. it’s called an “Advertorial” .. reads like their own writing but the content is 100% hard core slanted to the company sponsoring the page.
The “mark up” on the POD magazine will be nominal in order to keep prices down and the publication to maintain viability.
