As said in the intro, Andre Roussel/ Bellocqa was an interesting figure. I don’t know much about the person.. and there is little online. When I’m back in the area, I am hoping to delve a bit deeper in to his background and life.. hoping to shed more light on the person behind the images. But, here’s a sampling of his work.
Bellocqa intro
Andre Roussel was an interesting creative based out of~ both~ Hull and Montreal, PQ. I remember living in Hull for a winter.. hadd just returned to Carleton on a part- time basis.. two english courses, concurrently. A first year and a second year.. the second year prof. said that if we didn’t happen to have prerequisites for the class, we would fail. I begged to differ and we battled head to head for the whole year. I think I passed. I know I passed my first year class with Prof. Cooper. With flying colours.
Anyhow.. Andre passed away due to COVID19. Sad but true. He was within the demographic of fear being a bit more advanced in his years. His work is diverse and he’s worked with some great models. His style is unique.. quirky but unique. Something that a lot of shooters are striving for.. striving but flailing.
I was saddened to learn of his passing a few years ago and I hope this little entry brings more attention to him and his work/ life.

Intro to John Running
John Running

I was introduced to John years ago.. when he was still shooting. He *hails* from the Flagstaff area.. an area that has a warm spot in my heart not only because it’s close to Phoenix and Sedona.. but it’s also close to Needles and that’s home to Snoopy’s brother Spike from the Peanuts comics I grew up with.
Sad to note that John has since shuffled off his mortal coil. He passed on in about 2013 so, if you visit his Deviant Art page here.. it hasn’t been updated. Unlike The Book of Face, Deviantart doesn’t have the ability to assign a page manager once you expire.
